Wondai is located on the Bunya Highway approximately 230 kilometres north-west of Brisbane and 25 kilometres north of Kingaroy.
The shire of Wondai abounds with community spirit, town pride and old fashioned friendliness. Wondai is aboriginal for “wild dog” and two sculptured dingoes on a rock feature at the roundabout welcome travellers to the town. Within easy walking distance is a cluster of award winning heritage/cultural attractions, rustic gift shops, tea gardens and antique stores.

Wondai has a population of approximately 2100 people and is situated in cattle and grain-growing country as well as having a productive hardwood timber industry. Wondai offers many sporting, cultural and social activities and has a reputation of being relaxed, friendly and welcoming.
