Ride Puffing Billy through the Dandenong Ranges before entering Gippsland and Walhalla, the remarkable gold town that remained without mains electricity until 1998. Explore its mine, heritage streets and Goldfields Railway, then continue to the Gippsland Lakes, Ninety Mile Beach and Marlo.
Phillip Island brings penguins at dusk. Ballarat and Bendigo reveal gold-rush ambition, while Rutherglen leads into Ned Kelly country, Craig’s Hut, High Country brumbies and The Man from Snowy River.
