Tocumwal is a thriving small rural town situated on the Murray River. With approximately 24 sandy beaches on the river, these are popular camping spots for travellers and holiday makers, who come here to go bushwalking, fishing, bird watching, boating and swimming.

The surrounding fertile lands are used for wheat, dairy, rice, wool, cattle, and vegetable and citrus production. Tocumwal was the largest aerodrome in the Southern Hemisphere during WWII which was used as a training base for Liberator Bomber pilots
