The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) lights up Melbourne this winter with bold, thought-provoking movies, unique events, vital voices and films you won’t find anywhere else.  More than 250 hits from the international festival circuit will have their Victorian premieres, with many screening exclusively at the festival.

MIFF showcases the most talked-about films of the year, featuring world premieres, award winners, and highly anticipated titles from Venice, Cannes, Berlin, and Sundance. The program also includes a rich lineup of special events, international talent, filmmaker Question and Answer sessions, XR experiences, talks, and the prestigious Bright Horizons competition, along with the return of the MIFF Festival Hub.
MIFF also includes an expansive state-wide program with MIFF Regional – screening at eight cities across Victoria – Healesville , Warrnambool, Sale Cinema, Ballarat, Castlemaine, Rosebud, Bendigo, Geelong 
The 2026 program includes free and low-cost activities together with ticketed events.  Annually, MIFF attracts more than 180,000 attendees, making it one of the top five film festival audiences in the world.
