Experience a classic of European literature brought to life in the heart of Sydney with Scene Theatre Sydney’s production of The Good Soldier Švejk.
Cheerful, unpredictable and seemingly simple, Josef Švejk finds himself caught in a world of military orders, bureaucracy and absurd authority. Yet as the world around him descends into madness, Švejk survives – and quietly subverts it all.
Adapted by Scene Theatre Sydney Artistic Director Carol Dance, this entertaining 90-minute production combines comedy, satire and thought-provoking observations about authority and human nature.
Performances take place in the intimate King George Room at the heritage-listed Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, conveniently located in Sydney CBD near Gadigal and Town Hall stations.
Guests can enjoy a drink before the performance, with the theatre bar opening 45 minutes before showtime.
