Steamrail Victoria returns to the North East with a day tour to the railway town of Seymour.

Reminiscent of the glory days of The Spirit of Progress, journey over the great dividing range and into the Goulburn Valley on a return journey from Southern Cross Station. Travel in style in Steamrail’s heritage carriages behind a classic steam locomotive. The engine will perform a fast run direct to Seymour, reminiscent of the golden age of the Victorian Railways and famous express trains like the Spirit of Progress and Albury Express.

After the train departs Melbourne, settle into your compartment and listen to the engine work hard and climb the famous Glenroy Bank, through the northern suburbs and into regional Victoria. After passing through the volcanic plains surrounding Wallan, the train will climb to the summit of the Great Dividing Range at Heathcote Junction and pass through the familiar bushland of the North-East.

On arrival in the historic railway town of Seymour, you will have time to explore the town on the banks of the Goulburn River and dine at a number of local venues at your leisure while the loco is turned on the turntable for the return journey.
