Library Up Late returns in partnership with Now or Never, transforming State Library Victoria into an after-dark playground of music, art and innovation, drawing inspiration from the Library’s collection.
In the Dome, composer and guzheng master Mindy Meng Wang and her Melbourne electronic counterpart Tim Shiel present a series of live performances, blending their distinct musical styles. In The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall, artist-scientist Yoyo Munk brings the Library’s oral histories collection to life through an immersive sound installation.
Experience PULSE_ by Misklectic, Harry J. Dee and Luca Bade, an interactive audio-visual installation that transforms human emotions into visions of the future, and hit the dancefloor with Haus of Ralph and House Mum as they join forces for an electrifying DJ set.
Get a first look at The Great Reclamation – a Speculative Archive of Climate Futures, an exciting new project by Library Fellows Vei Tan and Patrick Macasaet, reimagining the Library in a climate-altered future.
Throughout the evening, unwind at Book Doof, a communal reading experience in Redmond Barry Reading Room, complete with ambient music and soft lighting. Don’t forget to bring your own book! Gain exclusive after-hours access to Rebel Heart and You Have a New Memory and hear directly from exhibition curators.
