Qantas House

Standing on the corner of Hunter and Elizabeth Street is the imposing Qantas House building. 
The much-loved city landmark is an architectural icon of its time. Designed for Qantas Empire Airways by Felix Tavener of Rudder Littlemore & Rudder Architects in 1957, it was entirely constructed using locally sourced materials, a visible symbol of Australian enterprise.
Historically significant as the first world headquarters for Qantas which at the time was Government-owned and Australia’s only international airline.
A quintessential Sydney building that represents a brave future and a strong sense of history and of place.
