Bel canto tales of love, loss and madness from 19th-century Italy, told by some of Australia’s most brilliant singers, using all the chiaroscuro and passion of the human voice against a lush backdrop of historical strings, winds and brass.
Based on groundbreaking new research and featuring leading Australian vocalists with the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra, plus three YMS Emerging Artists and two ARCO Fellows.
Co-directed by Rachael Beesley and Neal Peres Da Costa, with sopranos Anna Fraser and Claire Burrell-McDonald, tenor Andrew Goodwin and bass David Greco.
