Goulburn Valley Diesel Explorer

Cruise behind vintage diesels to the Goulburn Valley where you can visit Seymour, Murchison East or the picturesque lakeside town of Nagambie.
Picking up at Southern Cross Station, travel in Steamrail’s heritage carriages behind classic 1960’s vintage Electro-Motive Diesel diesel locomotives. The locomotives will perform a fast run direct to Seymour in the morning, reminiscent of the golden age of the Victorian Railways and famous express trains like the Spirit of Progress and Albury Express. 
After the train departs Melbourne, settle into your compartment and listen to the engines work hard as we climb the infamous Glenroy Bank, through the northern suburbs and into regional Victoria. After passing through the volcanic plains surrounding Wallan, our train will climb to the summit of the Great Dividing Range at Heathcote Junction and pass through the familiar bushland of the North-East. On arrival into the historic railway town of Seymour, we will have a quick stop on the platform before departing  onto the plains of the Goulburn Valley, known for its world-class wineries. 
You will have time to explore Nagambie at your leisure or dine at the Murchison East Railway Hotel. After a pleasant lunch, the train will depart Murchison East and pick up at Nagambie, followed by Seymour, before the express run back to Melbourne, arriving back into Southern Cross Station.
