Story Dogs on Sunday at the National Library

Town: Parkes

Address: Parkes Place West, Parkes, 2600, ACT

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

Join the National Library for a paw-sitive reading experience with the Story Dogs program.

Trained volunteers and their accredited dogs create a nurturing environment where children can practice reading aloud without fear of judgment. This unique program aims to make reading fun, helping children become confident, lifelong readers.

Young people aged 7 to 12 are invited to read to a friendly and attentive dog in a relaxed setting just outside the Bookshop in the Foyer.

Very small children (under 7) can meet the dogs and volunteers but cannot participate directly in the reading sessions.

Two dogs will be onsite for each session, however places are limited and bookings are essential.

This event will repeat on the last Sunday of every month for the remainder of the year, and you’re welcome to book ahead on the Library website.

This program is presented in partnership with Story Dogs.
