A handmade card to your primary school crush. An angsty diary entry. A risky double text. Love letters – in all forms – have long helped us express what’s hard to say out loud.
This Valentine’s Day, join State Library Victoria for Love Letters Live, when they turn the private into the public – inviting audiences to witness the beauty and messiness of love.
Presented as part of their Rebel Heart program series and hosted by comedian Nina Oyama (Utopia, Deadloch, Taskmaster Australia), this intimate event brings together some of Australia’s most beloved comics and emerging performers to read their own love letters live – baring all for an evening of longing and laughter.
Funny, poetic, raw and deeply human, their courageous confessions will blend standup, theatre and uninhibited storytelling in this playful and personal ode to expressions of the heart.
Rebel Heart: Love letters and other declarations will be open to guests before the event (from 6.15pm) and during the interval.
Presented by State Library Victoria with Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
