When struggling artist An Yiji is invited to the prestigious Robert Foundation residency in California, she knows it could be the break her career desperately needs. But there’s a bizarre catch.
As wildfires rage across the state, An Yiji finds herself trapped in a strange and surreal world of awkward dinners, meddling sponsors and the looming threat of watching her art go up in smoke.
Following the discussion, you’ll have the chance to engage directly with the author, asking about her satirical vision and the inspiration behind the darkly comic world of Art on Fire during a live audience session.
