Afro-Brazilian Percussion and Music Workshop Series

The team teach rhythm, song and movement at regular workshops. Their style is traced through the lineage of groups (or “nations”) such as Estrela Brilhante, Leão Coroado, and others. They share a living tradition of maracatu locally to promote social inclusion, break cultural barriers, and facilitate community building and engagement.
No musical experience is required. All instruments provided. Not suitable for children.
